What I Got for Christmas

I’m just going to show a few things that I got for Christmas 2023 as this year, I am focusing less on ‘stuff’. For the last few years, I have been on a journey to try to buy less and I want my online spaces to reflect this. So here are a small collection of the gifts I gratefully received.

Sol de Janeiro Bom Dia Bright Set

My daughter and I love Sol de Janeiro. We share a couple of scents, moisturisers and body washes. I was lucky enough to receive this Jet Set pack and the Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 71 hair and body scent. The travel sizes mean they are perfect for my gym bag and handy for my post-swim showers. I tend to refill these cute little bottles and tubs when they run out either with the full-sized product or any dupes I can find.

Thanks It’s Mac lipstick

Lily Pebbles recommended this shade of Mac lipstick in a YouTube vlog I watched so I added it to my wish list. I always wear similar shades during the day especially when I am in the office. It is glossier than my other favourite, Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk which is a matte lipstick. This is ideal for the winter months as my lips tend to get dry in the cold weather.

Knitwear

I live in cosy jumpers throughout the Autumn and Winter months. I love wearing longer ones like this one from Mango with leggings or shorter ones (pictured below from H&M) tucked into wide fit jeans. Recently, I have had a fairly neutral colour palette in my wardrobe, gravitating towards greys, blacks and beiges. In 2024, I will try to be a bit more colourful. I’ve seen a lot of red on Instagram which should be a a nice place for me to ease back in.

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed my What I got for Christmas post and had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Bx *I DO NOT receive any commission or rewards for any of the links in this post. I have just linked the items for your convenience 🙂

Current Dupes

As I have mentioned in previous posts, I have been trying to save the pennies for quite a while now. I don’t often buy clothes, accessories and make up etc. especially as I worry about the impact on the environment so as a result, the clothes in my wardrobe are getting quite tired. I decided to find some less expensive alternatives to my Wish List which I think/hope will last in terms of quality and style. I won’t add captions to reveal which is ‘Spend’ and which is ‘Save’, but I will let you know at the end.

Funnily enough, these three purse friendly items were from Mango. I discovered the brand properly this year after I saw a pair of their mom-fit jeans on the John Lewis website. I had always been aware of the brand but never bought anything as I don’t have a branch local to me. Since lockdown, I have been more willing to try new brands and online shopping in general. I seriously love these jeans, wear them all the time and so glad I decided to try them out.

Gingham seems to be everywhere at the moment and I love one that I saw at Hush. The only problem is that it was a bit too pricey. As much as I love the style, I don’t think I would wear it enough to justify spending £69 on it!

I have been obsessed with these Birkenstock Boston sandals for months now however, at £90, I couldn’t stomach the price tag. I saw these dupes and my hubby says he actually prefers the cheaper pair even though there is not much in it.

So could you guess which of the pairs were wallet friendly or wallet foe? I can reveal that all the Mango dupes are on the LEFT! Leave a comment below to let me know your favourites. Bx
