Christmas Party Makeup – Blogmas Day 13

For my work Christmas party on Saturday, I really wanted to take a full-length picture (or two) for an OOTD post. Unfortunately, as is the way as a mum of two, I was rushing out of the door already late. I did manage to get a picture of my makeup and top half of my dress so I will share these with you first.

I’ve had to buy lots of new makeup recently as Annabelle has managed to ruin my favourite ones 😦 It has been very expensive so I have put them completely out of reach. She does ask me every day if we can play with them and I feel mean saying, ‘Maybe later’, knowing full well that later will never come but the cheeky monkey knows her stuff. She doesn’t like the cheaper makeup no matter how pretty the packaging!

So on my face, I had Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation in 2N1 Desert Beige. This can sometimes make me look slightly pale so I add a touch of warmth with Nars Bronzer in the shade Laguna (not pictured). I used Bourjois Radiance Concealer in 02 Beige to hide my under eye circles (also not pictured).

For my eyes, I used a smoky eye palette from MAC which isn’t available anymore but this one is pretty similar. The eyeliner in the top picture is Urban Decay’s Perversion. I will admit that I didn’t really like it at first. It was hard to apply and difficult to take off even with a makeup remover designed for waterproof mascaras. I have grown to like it but find that the nib isn’t as smooth as I would like. I curled my lashes with the Charlotte Tilbury eyelash curler in rose gold. I can’t tell you how much I love these! I read a review online which said they were really flimsy and it nearly put me off buying them. I can see how they might have come to that conclusion as the rubber is quite spongey. It is definitely sturdy enough for me and equal favourite to my trusty old Shu Uemura’s. I then coated my lashes with Maybelline Lash Sensational. This is not my preferred mascara. That would be The Falsies by the same brand.

Finally, I used Nars Blusher in the shade Orgasm, their Illuminator in Copacabana and Dior Hydra-Gel lipstick. I can’t remember the shade but I think it was True 722.

I will try to recreate the look when I am off work on Thursday an post an OOTD with my dress and sparkly shoes. What are you wearing to your Christmas party? Bx

Day toNight OOTD

Day toNight… Do you like what I did there? 😉 In my recent Primark Mummy Haul I mentioned that I was on the hunt for a pair of wet look leggings and hurrah, I have found quite a few. This inspired me to create a Day to Night OOTD as it is my birthday this month and this is the type of Autumnal outfit I would like to wear all day… And night!

Day To Night

Leather Look Leggings, White Cable Knit Jumper, Fringe Ankle Boots, Black and White Blouse, Quilted Cross Body Handbag, Rimmel Kate 30 Lipstick

The leggings I chose were from New Look as not only were they high waisted which is ideal for us mummies who aren’t quite comfortable in low rise trousers but they are really reasonably priced. I decided that wet-look leggings are not the type of thing I would splurge on as I probably would only wear them in to town or on a night out. Let’s face it, it’s not the type of thing you would wear to baby sensory is it?

I absolutely adore this Cable Knit Jumper from Topshop. It looks so cosy and perfect for snuggling on all these colder days we are having at the moment. Underneath, I have chosen this Black and White Blouse from Dorothy Perkins but I should warn you that they have a promotion at the moment and it seems to be selling out quick. If you like it click through ASAP.

I have chosen the following three accessories as I think they can be worn all day. The Ankle Boots have fringe detail to glam up your look and the handbag is small enough to carry around if you’re out with the kids and a buggy. Lastly, to glam up your look, I really recommend this shade of lipstick from Kate Moss’ Rimmel collection. It featured in my recent Blogtober post.

I hope you like this Day to Night OOTD as much as I do. I think it might be a bit daring for some people and I definitely think I would need a bit of confidence to wear it but if you do find the courage, I am sure you will be a gorgeous little head turner. Let me know if you try it out or have done in the past. Bx
