Sorry, I’ve been away so long but I’m back with My Monday Meals. I didn’t have any Easter Eggs or lamb today as I didn’t fancy it and also as I don’t really crave a lot of meat when I’m pregnant. When I was carrying Annabelle, I couldn’t eat meat at all until about 14 weeks and even then, I didn’t fancy it very much. I had a real sweet tooth and loved citrus, which I don’t care for normally. Here’s what I ate today:
Jordan’s Super Berry Granola with Greek yoghurt, fresh blueberries, raspberries and strawberries, and a drizzle of honey. I normally drink a Nespresso with hot soya milk and then a cup of Earl Grey tea but I haven’t had coffee since my last Monday Meals post and currently prefer drinking ‘normal builders’ tea or English Breakfast. I think I don’t like the spices in Earl Grey as they seem quite overpowering right now.
For lunch I had a jacket potato with medium mature cheddar cheese and baked beans. I had this nearly every lunchtime in the first trimester with Annabelle. It’s one of the few things I can eat without feeling ill. I also love cheese but I don’t think Annabelle does. Maybe she’ll like it when she’s older.
Andy made a chicken goujon salad with pan-fried Halloumi cheese, plum tomatoes and leaves. I probably should have had some carbs with the meal to keep me going til breakfast as I can feel quite ill in the morning if I don’t have a heavier dinner. I decided to have a dessert afterwards as I couldn’t eat much of the chicken. I ate a fudge and clotted cream ice-cream cone which was amazing!
