Chicco Graco

During my first pregnancy, I was quite frugal. I tried to save wherever possible and refused to buy a lot of things or bought things as cheaply as possible. After Heath was born, I quickly realised that there were a few things I probably should have invested in as I always knew I wanted two children.

I decided to buy a Moses basket rather than a crib as I thought that I shouldn’t spend a lot of money on something a baby would only be in for a few months. Annabelle was always so tiny so she could sleep in it for a while, however, Heath very quickly filled up the basket. He is still waking up a few times a night to feed, so I wished I had purchased a co-sleeper, such as the Chicco Next 2 Me Bedside Crib. I think there are a couple of benefits to investing in a crib. Firstly, it is slightly larger than a Moses Basket and designed for babies up to 6 months old. Secondly, it is ideal to have baby next to you so he can see without worrying that you will roll over on to him.

I also tried to save by purchasing an inexpensive bouncer but I wished I had invested in a motorised rocker or swing, for example, the Graco Duet Rocker. We spent so many evenings eating dinner with one foot on the bouncer or I would have to use the sling while I did the chores. Having something that kept baby moving just to free up a bit of time to spend with the older sibling or to get things done around the house would have made my life so much easier.

Is there anything you wished you had bought during your first pregnancy? Please let me know in the comments below. Bx

We bought the chicco crib when Nathan decided he no longer liked his moses basket at 3 weeks old. He’s slept for about a total of 6 hours in it in 3 months!

Oh no! What a pickle. Heath would sleep in the Moses basket. He just outgrew it way too fast. x
