37 weeks… I have been growing a baby for 37 weeks! What a crazy thought. I may only have 4 more pregnancy posts left.
I am: 37 weeks.
I’m wearing: An ASOS maternity vest that I bought in the sale for £5! I’ve been wearing it all summer and have been struggling to stay at a comfortable temperature recently. I’m either too hot or too cold so I’ve been wearing layers to help. The jeans are same as always, Leigh maternity from Topshop.
I weigh: 148lbs/67kg
I’ve gained: 2lbs/1kg since last week. I go through waves where I feel like I’m constantly hungry or I have no appetite at all. A happy medium would be nice.
How I’m feeling: Tired, uncomfortable, irritable, the list could go on. Add a cold to the mix. It’s so frustrating that I can only take paracetamol as I really feel like I need something industrial strength to help shift it.
Highlight: The only good thing about being ill is curling up on sofa watching Disney movies with Annabelle. We have introduced her to Monsters Inc. and The Little Mermaid. She wasn’t that interested in the latter.
The baby is: almost ready to enter the world but if it stays put for another two weeks its lungs and brain will fully mature. The baby’s movements are feeling really strong and can often hurt as they feel like jabs. I don’t think Annabelle was as strong or moved as much as this baby but she did move a lot.
Food cravings: A lot of sweet cravings rather than savoury. I am eating a lot of fruit (apples and pears) and chocolate. I’ve wanted to have blueberries and raspberries but they are quite tart as they’re not really in season.
Symptoms: It’s really difficult to walk as my hips feel like they need to be clicked into place. I’m getting a lot more cramps instead of Braxton Hicks. The baby is waking me up in the middle of the night so I need to go to the toilet a lot and I’m not getting a decent night’s sleep. I’m not tired enough to nap during the day though.
My body: Is getting too big for maternity clothes. I have to wear a lot of jumper dresses instead of T-shirts as they are getting a bit short. At least I can wear comfy regular tights and leggings underneath.
Any mood swings? Yes, I’m very moody and irritable as I’m tired and moving is difficult.
I’m looking forward to: Meeting the baby! I know if it stays in for another week or so that it’s beneficial for the baby but I’m not feeling great and really want to take some cold and flu medicine.
