Bedruthan Steps, Cornwall

Spending an afternoon at the coast is one of our favourite family past times. Andy proposed at Pentire, we had a beach themed wedding and the children absolutely love dipping their toes in the ocean. Well, actually neither of them seem content leaving it at that. They would completely immerse themselves given the chance!

Bedruthan Steps

Last week we decided to explore Bedruthan Steps in Cornwall and we chose the perfect day. The weather made us feel as though we were on holiday in a tropical country. The sun shone on us, the sea looked crystal clear and all that was missing was some palm trees blowing in the breeze.

We decided to visit Bedruthan Steps because we knew it wouldn’t be as busy as Mawgan Porth or Watergate Bay where the car parks were full. We know Cornwall quite well as Andy’s parents live there and we try to avoid the busy areas during the Summer holidays.

Bedruthan Steps is not popular with a lot of families who have young children as the steps are quite steep and it is not buggy friendly. With a sling it is easier to explore, however I made the mistake of taking a changing bag. Next time, I’ll definitely pack a rucksack!

I couldn’t get down to the beach on this occasion as my bag was quite heavy and not ideal for walking which was a real shame as the footage that Andy took of the beach was amazing. I don’t think we’ll get weather like that again soon either. Oh well.

It looks an amazing place to visit! I would love to visit one day, that beach looks amazing! A shame that you brought the changing bag instead, I make that mistake sometimes too. Love the vlog, everyone seems to be having an amazing time splashing in the water on such a nice day, it really does look like it could be in a foreign country! Lucky you having parents-in-law living in such a fabulous part of the country to visit!
Tha you so much for linking up to #Whatevertheweather x

I love Bedruthan Steps but haven’t been since i’ve had Evie. Great tips regarding the sling and leaving the buggy though, I definitely want to go soon. I’m glad you had a great holiday. You’re so lucky that you get to stay down here so often. Your little ones are going to make so many amazing summer memories. Your pictures are so beautiful. 😀 Thank you so much for linking to #whatevertheweather x

Thank you. I hope you get the chance to go to Bedruthan Steps soon. It was such a lovely day out.
I am grateful that I get to visit Cornwall so often. If we won the lottery, it would be a great place to have a second home 😉 x

I remember visiting Bedruthen Steps when my boys were about 7 and 5. We braved the steps and spent a fab hour or two exploring pools left by the out-going tide and drawing with fingers in the pristine sand. The boys absolutely loved it. I did too until the climb back up! Thank goodness for the NT cafe at the top to catch our breaths and enjoy (another) a cream tea. x
