When I first started blogging, my posts were mainly about food and drink. As time went on, I focused more on motherhood and my life in general. The majority of people who visit my website read about my 2014 pregnancy but I have noticed that some of my popular posts have also been about Thai Pink Noodle Soup and Thai Ice Tea.
This made me think about all the things I have been lucky enough to have as a child that is now popular and trending in the UK. As a teenager, my cousin Bank would take me to try Bubble Tea in Thailand. As a really young child, I would drink Yakult and hot soybean drinks. Over the last few years, my mum and I have enjoyed drinking matcha tea before it went viral here.

Last summer I had a lot of iced matcha latte including this one from Sugarcane Studio in Bath. Now, because of the popularity of Blank Street, matcha lattes are everywhere! I really wanted to try one of their lattes last Summer when I was in London but it was so busy and there was nowhere to sit. I finally tried the Daydream flavour this Easter and although it was tasty, it was not my favourite. The flavour is vanilla bean, honey, and cinnamon. I had mine with oat milk. What I liked about the drink was that the flavours were not over powering. I also think the matcha was quite subtle and smooth. Some of the matcha I have had recently tasted quite bitter. I will also say that I didn’t think Blank Street was too expensive in comparison to other coffee shops 🙂
I think my favourite to date is the Strawberry Iced Matcha latte from Sugarcane Studio.
The main reason for this post is to share my thoughts on things I have tried that are not so commonly found. I clicked on and read a few of my old posts like the Japanese Mochi and Grass Jelly drinks and it made me realise that I am trying new things but haven’t been sharing it.
Are you a fan of matcha? If so, where is the best place to get your matcha fix? Bx
