HNY 2025

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2025. I’m quite glad to see the back of 2024 to be honest. It was pretty rubbish. I’m very optimistic that this year is going to be a whole lot better.

My focus this year is going to be on self care. I haven’t been good at prioritising me in recent times. My exercise regime was non-existent, I snacked a lot and barely drank enough water. Added to that, a small part of my c-section scar separated (which is crazy as Heath is 10 years old!) showing that I really need to take better care of myself.

I’m the type of person that needs to integrate good habits into my day. I find if I start small, little activities build over time and before I know it, I’ve done 1009 days on Duolingo or always washed the makeup off my face before bed even at 2am after a night out.

I think my biggest achievement in 2024 was cutting back on unnecessary spending. With so many costs rising, I needed to spend less in many areas to balance this out. There were less takeaways, many of which where cheaper options, fewer clothes and finding better alternatives when food shopping. For example, a lot of supermarket own brand produce is not only cheaper but healthier than the original, from cream cheese to soup.

Before I sign off this post, I wanted to say thank you for reading my blog. I seem to have a bit of a streak going at the moment as I have posted once a day since 21st December (my dad would’ve turned 80 on that day). Both this space and I have changed a lot since I started blogging in 2013. I haven’t been very active in recent years as I was constantly questioning what I wanted to share. If I can, I will continue posting daily but I know this will be much harder once the kids are back at school. I work full-time and after school, the children have a lot of clubs from dance and drama to gymnastics, football and swimming (and that isn’t even all of the clubs listed!).

Wishing you a very happy 2025 – let’s make it a good one! Bx
