Pregnancy Update: 18 weeks

18 weeks pregnant, nearly half way there! It almost doesn’t seem real.

18 Weeks Pregnant

Hi Belle AKA Miss Gatecrasher!

18 Weeks Pregnant

The bun is cooking!

18 Weeks Pregnant

I am: at the end of week 18
I weigh: 126lbs/ 57kg
I’ve gained: No change since last week so still 6lbs (3kg) less than my pre-pregnancy weight (I suffered with Hyperemesis gravidarum, really bad morning sickness and lost 13lb/6kg).
I’m wearing: The Leigh Topshop maternity jeans in a mid stone wash. They are still a bit baggy and slide down but are super comfy. My jumper is also from Topshop but not maternity. I bought it a few years ago and it had metal embellishment on the shoulders but I unpicked it earlier this week as it wasn’t very fashionable. I really liked the colour of the jumper and I didn’t want to give it away.
How I’m feeling: I’m not sure how it is possible, but I actually feel worse this week in comparison to last. I was sick yesterday and felt so tired. Annabelle’s swimming lesson was cancelled and as sad as I was, I actually think it would have knocked us both out completely. She has been sneezing and has had a runny nose and my joints ache.
Highlight: I had my hair cut and coloured which was a real treat for me as I haven’t visited the hairdressers since early December or coloured my hair in over a year. It was also nice to go into town without lots of toddler bags, buggies and an over-excitable two-year-old asking for Peppa Pig biscuits from Waitrose!
The baby is: still very wriggle-some but again, only for me. I’m sure poor Andy would like some interaction and response from the baby. Hopefully as it gets bigger and develops it will give Andy the chance to bond and connect.
Food cravings: To be honest, I haven’t really had the desire to eat much this week. I’m not sure if it is because I don’t feel well but I just feel a bit ‘Meh’ when it comes to food. I’ve had little bits of Tyrrell’s Vegetable crisps and Thornton’s Chocolate Fudge Brownies and their Caramel Shortcake every now and then. No overwhelming urges to finish the packs or to keep eating, just a bit like, ‘Mmm that’s nice’!
Symptoms: Really uncomfortable 😦 It feels so tight around my ribs and bladder so I constantly have the urge to visit the bathroom. I mean it is non-stop, I think yesterday it was about eight times in four hours! I’ve even had discomfort wearing my Mothercare maternity trousers from my last pregnancy as they button below the bump rather than being an elasticated waistband. It could be that my bump is a different shape and size to last time as I had no problems wearing them all the way through or it could be that I wasn’t moving around as much then as I was working in an office.
My body: Following on from the symptoms, Andy says that my bump looks a bit more pointy so it is possible that the bump not only feels different but appears to be a different shape too. I would quite like a pair of black or grey maternity jeans and will therefore look into buying ones with elastic waistbands for comfort reasons. I’m feeling a bit achy, as mentioned earlier, so I have been massaging in the free travel-size sample of Clarins Relax Body Treatment Oil into my bump (mentioned in my Beauty Buys post) and Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula on to my back and shoulders.
Any mood swings? Nope, thankfully. Just a bit emotional when watching Cold Case and Home and Away.
I’m looking forward to: The 20-week scan. Woo hoo!!!!

Did you catch my 17 week pregnancy update or any of my earlier pregnancy posts? Do you think I’m having a boy or a girl? I’ll let you know this week (well, hopefully!). Let me know in the comments below. Bx
