I often share my favourite makeup, clothes and books on social media but I only occasionally share my favourite songs and artists. For a long time, I didn’t listen to music for pleasure. I think it was a few years. My children, my daughter especially, love music and as they grew, I was exposed to more and more songs. Now, I find that not only do I listen to music daily, it also lifts my mood.
The pic shows my top 5 most played songs and artists from 2024, however, bear in that my children select the vast majority of the music we listen to in the car. So One Direction and Katy Perry are their regularly listened to artists. l I have always been a huge Backstreet Boys fan and I still often listen to them. I also enjoy Taylor Swift and Glee cast songs, the Weeknd and some classics e.g ABBA, and Roxy Music. At the moment, I have APT. by Rosé and Bruno Mars permanently stuck in my brain. I also listen to Daylight, New Romantics and Invisible String by Taylor Swift on repeat.
When I was younger and I bought tape cassettes and then CDs, I’d always listen to an album in its entirety. I think the last time a listened to a full album was Britney Spears’ Circus. Isn’t it funny how your habits change over time?
