Project Pan

If you have read my recent posts, you will know I am on a project pan/decluttering mission. This means I plan on ‘hitting pan’ (using up) my makeup before I can buy new. My aim is not only to hit pan on the majority of my makeup items but it also means I don’t replace until I only have one or two or that particular item left. The biggest categories where I own the most products include (in order of most to least):

Lipstick/gloss
Eyeshadow
Foundation
Mascara
Bronzer

I plan to film some empties videos in 2025 to upload to social media. I would also like to film some recommendations. For now, I will give a shout out to some current favourites that are either nearly empty or I have used regularly over the last few months:

L’Oreal True Match Foundation Serum

As much as I have really enjoyed using the L’Oreal True Match Foundation Serum (my skin feels so soft and it has a nice coverage and natural glow) and very nearly finished it, I will not repurchase it once I have used all my foundations up because I plan on buying from more ethical and eco-friendly brands.

Mini Benefit Hoola Bronzer

I’m not even close to hitting pan on Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer despite using it religiously in recent months. Again I won’t repurchase this once it has finished, not only because I have another Hoola bronzer in full size but I also have two Charlotte Tilbury bronzers (one cream and one powder) and a Chanel bronzer to finish too.

Mascara

Not a shout out as such, but I am currently using the mini Rare Beauty mascara and Benefit’s Fan Fest mascara. I like both but I wouldn’t say I love them enough to repurchase. It’s obviously not advisable to use more than one mascara at a time due to their short expiry dates, however, I was in a rush the other day and couldn’t find my Rare Beauty mascara. I had just bought the Marks and Spencer’s advent calendar so I started using the Benefit Fan Fest. I always seem to end up with mascara under my eyes but both of these products have minimal transfer.

Concealer and eyebrow products

Two categories that appear to be quite lacking in my makeup bag are concealers and brow products. I don’t like to spend a huge amount per product or buy a lot of items in these categories. For concealer, I have been using the Nars Radiant Concealer. Although this works well, I’m not convinced I have the right shade so in 2025 I’ll either need to find a better shade or look for a different brand. Honourable mention goes to Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer which is a great price point when my concealer runs out before pay day.

I find Bare Mineral’s brow serum in the shade coffee easy to use and has good coverage. I also recommend ELF’s Brow Gel (and clear mascara*) pretty decent. *I haven’t used the clear mascara side yet. I seem to use brow products up quite quickly and have stayed loyal to both Rimmel’s microdefiner pencil or Benefit’s Precisely, My Brow pencil, when I can spend a bit more!
