Pregnancy Update: 35 Weeks

35 weeks pregnant and just over a month until my due date. Who’s scared? I was told today that having two children wasn’t doubly hard it was four times harder! Oh no!

I am: 35 weeks pregnant.
I’m wearing: A nursing dress from JoJo Maman Bebe and a pair of Mothercare maternity trousers just for the photos so I don’t flash my underwear!
I weigh: 146lbs/66kg
I’ve gained: Nothing since last week. Everything I do gain must be just for the baby as my blood test results from my midwife says I have a lot of low levels for vitamins like iron and B12 and that I have don’t have reserve stores either. I guess I need to eat more of the right foods.
How I’m feeling: Tired but that’s because I don’t have enough of the right foods and vitamins in my system. I will be working hard to eat lots of iron rich meals and supplements. I always try to eat a lot of fruit, vegetables and I crave a lot of beef but I’m not that keen on chicken or pork at the moment. I cooked the latter the other day and the smell wasn’t strong but it was really off putting so I had fish instead.
Highlight: I finally chose a car seat and a second Stokke Tripp Trapp. Annabelle and the baby will have matching high chairs now. I think I’ve spent the longest time deliberating over buying a car seat. Longer than on the pram or anything else we have chosen for Annabelle or the baby so it is definitely a weight off my mind now.
The baby is: about 46cm and apparently it doesn’t have much room to move. Well, I’ll second that. It doesn’t have a lot of space but it still tries all the time. Last night Annabelle woke up at 4am and wasn’t feeling well so she came to sleep in our bed and I was kept awake by three fidgets!
Food cravings: Still fluids and no real food cravings. I am drinking a lot of Vanilla flavoured Rooibos tea and grapefruit juice. As I’m anaemic, I’ve been drinking Spatone Iron supplements as well as the supplements prescribed by my doctor but it has such an awful taste the only thing that I can drink it with is Sainsbury’s Pure Pink Grapefruit or Tropicana Ruby Red Breakfast juices.
Symptoms: Lots of Braxton Hicks, needing to go to the bathroom every time the baby moves on to my bladder, tiredness and aches in my lower back and hips. The last trimester is not so fun but at least it is better than the first.
My body: Is achey and uncomfortable. My belly is looking stretched and veiny. Not attractive 😦
Any mood swings? Yep, from being tired and uncomfortable. One month to go… well hopefully.
