Christmas and New Year – What We Did

We spent Christmas 2016 in Cornwall with my in-laws. It was a very lovely festive season but it seemed to be over in a flash! Unfortunately, it was a slightly rocky start as during a three hour journey from Bath to Newquay, Heath was car sick and threw up 10 minutes before we were due to arrive. I then caught the cold that I had been fighting off for weeks (typical isn’t it!) and ended up spending Christmas Eve in bed 😦

Luckily, the rest of the holidays went smoothly. We had a great Christmas Day. Everyone was delighted with their gifts (see what I got for Christmas here) especially Heath who was so happy with the first present he opened, his Micky Mouse Duplo train that he didn’t want to open anything else!

As always, we ended up on the beach for a lovely walk. We headed to Crantock Beach, which is very close to Newquay. It was a bit too chilly to stay out for long and both kids were a bit tired from all the Christmas excitement but it was nice to stretch our legs and inhale the salty sea air.

Despite the cold, Annabelle was desperate to go in to the sea for more than a paddle! Heath, as well as eating the sand, had lots of fun exploring, chasing Sally the family labrador and throwing a tantrum as he wasn’t ready to head home just yet.

We headed back to Somerset on the 28th and spent New Year with my mum and Uncle, celebrating his birthday. How did you ring in the New Year? I hope you had a lovely Christmas. Bx
